And I quote:”hey, I have a suggestion for you. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to omit something from a search? For example: a ford that’s rear wheel drive with a v8 and a stick that’s also not a mustang. Car guy guys would flipping love it. Sometimes we want something that’s not obvious.”

I just wish you could tell it more about the mechanicals. You can’t specify turbos or an lsd on the car. Hell, you can’t even separate the Performance pack GTIs from the regulars

You can. Specify Ford as the manufacturer. Plug in those other variables. And then just remove Mustang from the model list

Ugh, that was such a pain when I was looking for my Miata. (Of course, Autotrader would have no way to know that, because it’s not encoded in the VIN, so you have to look for other options that implied the LSD... except for when it was standalone.)
Ultimately ended up looking for a trim level that implied the options I wanted, even though it came with stuff I didn’t, and found what I wanted.

I’m still waiting for their iPad app to get a keyword search feature. The website and iPhone version have it, but they just forgot to include it for iPad.
EDIT: I’m thinking cars.com not autotrader.

I just wish you could exclude exterior colors. “Show all colors except”. Every search result I get is 75% black cars. I will never buy another black car.

Exactly how I feel about white cars. The ability to exclude colors would be great.
